I always think of the sea as a powerful and magical place. Maybe Sea Monsters and Mermaids aren't real, but I sure wish they were. We all need a little magic in our lives, so I hope to have piqued your imagination of what could be under the surface. I live in Seattle and often dream about going out to the Washington or Oregon Coast — There is always so much to discover, and you never know what will behind the next wave, or what you will see when the tide rolls out. This is also in the spirit of exploring the outer edge of something so massive and amazing.
This started out as part of a 30 day drawing challenge, but evolved into something much more detailed. I love that I made it a little darker than most to show the lighthouse's light and the depth of the sea.
It's a nice thick paper, so it will stand up without a frame just fine. Just don't set it next to the milk. It's a Cereal Pirate's favorite booty! Arrrr! I often choose uncoated paper because I have access to a durable paper that won't smudge if you touch it. I think it makes it look a lot fancier than just using a standard matte paper. Only the best papers for my work!
